ELPT-English Language Proficiency Test
Why do we need a Language test?
ICAO and EASA language requirements
Aeroplane, helicopter and airship pilots required to use the radio telephone shall not exercise the privileges of their licences and ratings unless they have a language proficiency endorsement on their licence in either English or the language used for radio communications involved in the flight.
This means that all commercial pilots and Air traffic controllers need to perform a Language test during the education or before starting to work.
SkySim Language Assessment- ELPT
We offer Aviation English and Swedish language tests for all pilots and
Air Traffic Controllers
Our testing procedures
SkySim Language Test procedures have been assessed and approved in accordance with European aviation standards (EASA FCL.055), implementing the international recommendations on language testing (ICAO Doc 9835). You can choose between the following options:
FACE to FACE
An experienced Language examiner will guide you through the test and provide you with an extensive briefing and is here to answer all your questions.
Web meeting
Perform your Language Test from home at your computer. The Language Examiner will provide you with a link to the Web meeting and support you online.
How do you prepare for the test?
Please remember: this is a language test and not an aviation-knowledge test.
A language is something you learn during several years, and not during a short training course. This is what makes language proficiency testing different from other aviation tests. We recommend you to read English literature and listen to the English language and practice conversation before the test.
